Aboriginal Land Trust
Aboriginal Land Trusts (ALT) are made up of Traditional Owners and hold title to the land as inalienable Aboriginal freehold under the Land Rights Act 1976. This means the land can never be sold and the ALT members make decisions about their land with advice from the Land Council.
A number of sites have been identified in Central Australia as having potential for horticultural development. Prior to any development taking place the ALT must be consulted and agree to their land being leased or used for a commercial purpose.
Centrefarm has experience in the process of making Aboriginal land available for lease and commercial purposes.
